An interactive installation created collaboratively by more than 200 people. The participants were given small drawing pads and pencils and sent with a map to look for endangered species and Henry Moore sculptures around the gardens. They had to draw them, and upon their return they gained the “right” to two colorful poles they could “plant” wherever they wanted and stick their drawings to. Some families created “family trees” displaying the work of parents and children together. After a while this created a gently swaying forest of drawings that transformed the landscape and invited the visitors to walk among the new “trees”. Very often they would go and create their own one.

This project was part of the BIG DRAW 2007 for which Kew Gardens was given the “Trailblazer”(top national) Award.
